Hazy skies hampering air quality

The hazy air in Spokane measured as unhealthy for sensitive groups Tuesday afternoon on air quality monitors.

Sensitive groups, which includes people with asthma and heart disease, are being asked to limit their time outdoors. The air in many other areas of the state, including Newport, Colville and Ritzville as well as the Seattle area, are also considered unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Monitors in Clarkston and Pullman are registering air quality in the unhealthy range and everyone is advised to limit their time outside.

The Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency is predicting that the air quality will remain in the unhealthy for sensitive groups range on Wednesday.
