Ramsower’s two-run bunt single highlights three-run ninth in Cougars’ baseball victory

Ryan Ramsower had a two-run bunt single in a three-run ninth inning that sent Washington State to a 7-4 victory over Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Andres Alvarez led off the ninth with an infield single, Derek Chapman reached on a drag bunt and they both advanced on a wild pitch. Ramsower laid down a squeeze bunt that scored Alvarez and Chapman as Ramsower beat the throw to first. He scored on Justin Harrer’s double.

The Cougars (3-3) scored four runs in the sixth to tie the Lions (3-4) with Jon Burghardt’s two-run single being the big hit.

Ramsower, Harrer, Dillon Plew, Cory Meyer and James Rudkin all had two hits for the Cougars, who had 14 in all. Both of Harrer’s hits were doubles.

Colby Nealy (2-1), who pitched one-third of an inning, got the win.
