Grace Ellen Tucker Libby will celebrate her 100th birthday on Jan. 9. She was born Jan. 9, 1917 in Saco, Montana. She currently calls Spokane home and has lived in Eastern Washington for 90 years.

Libby met her husband, Wallace, who is deceased, on a blind date in Deer Park. The couple married in 1935.

Libby square danced for more than 50 years. She credits this dancing, walking and keeping active for helping her live a long and healthy life.

Her most memorable moments in history in the past 100 years are seeing a black president and the use of electronics.

Libby has three children: Wally and Pati Libby and Roger and Deb Libby, all of Spokane; and Dixie Libby, who is deceased. She also has 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
