TACOMA, Wash. – Gordon Beckham hit a run-scoring single in the fourth inning, leading the Tacoma Rainiers (37-33) to a 7-6 win over the Salt Lake Bees (39-33) on Tuesday.
Emilio Pagan got Ramon Flores to fly out with a runner on first to end the game for his third save of the season.
The single by Beckham started the scoring in a three-run inning and gave the Rainiers a 5-4 lead. Later in the inning, D.J. Peterson and Danny Muno hit RBI singles.
Salt Lake got within one after Rey Navarro hit a solo home run in the sixth inning and Nolan Fontana scored on a ground out in the eighth.
Tacoma starter Chase De Jong (3-3) picked up the win despite allowing five runs and 10 hits over 5 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Daniel Wright (2-3) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed seven runs and 11 hits over 3 2/3 innings.
Shane Robinson homered and singled twice, scoring two runs for the Bees. Navarro homered and singled, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Foster Griffin allowed just one run over 6 2/3 innings, leading the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (40-31) over the Arkansas Travelers (32-39) in a 3-1 win on Tuesday.
Andrew Edwards struck Ian Miller out with a runner on first to end the game for his second save of the season.
Griffin (4-1) allowed seven hits while striking out six and walking one to get the win.
NW Arkansas went up 2-0 in the second after Jack Lopez hit an RBI single, driving in Parker Morin.
After NW Arkansas added a run in the fifth on a single by Corey Toups, the Travelers cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Chuck Taylor hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Miller.
Tyler Herb (5-4) went 7 2/3 innings, allowing three runs and 10 hits in the Texas League game. He also struck out five and walked one.
Adam Law singled three times for the Travelers.
NW Arkansas improved to 11-4 against Arkansas this season.
Did not play due to the California League All-Star game. The box score was unavilable at time of this post. The Nuts sent to the North Division team Reggie McClain, Nick Neidert, Chris Mariscal, Logan Taylor, Gianfranco Wawoe and Braden Bishop.
Did not play due to the Midwest League All-Star game. Brandon Miller pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout for the West Division team, Danny Garcia was named to the team but did not pitch and Anthony Jimenez led off and went 0 for 3 as the West Division beat the East Division 5-2.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Deiferson Barreto hit a run-scoring double in the sixth inning, leading the Vancouver Canadians (4-2) to a 7-1 win over the Everett AquaSox (2-4) on Tuesday.
The double by Barreto started the scoring in a six-run inning and gave the Canadians a 2-1 lead. Later in the inning, Vancouver scored on four more plays, including a two-run double by Kevin Vicuna.
Juliandry Higuera (1-0) got the win with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Everett starter Ryne Inman (0-2) took the loss in the Northwest League game.
Joseph Rosa doubled and singled for the AquaSox.
