Architecture

Integrus Architecture has announced two advancements within their Spokane office. Director of Finance Alicia Morganti has been made a new senior associate. Sean Tharp, an architect, has been named an associate.

SPVV Landscape Architects have hired Jena Jauchius. Jauchius has 17 years experience and is LEED accredited. She specializes in landscapes for educational and childcare facilities, but has experience in streetscapes, park planning, playgrounds and non-motorized trails.

Banking

Horizon Credit Union has announced Greg Crary as VP of Information Services. Crary brings 10 years of experience in information technology systems to Horizon, where he worked from 2004-06. Crary most recently worked at Eastern Washington University as Associated VP for Information Technology and CISO.

Education

Jenni Martin has been named as Community Colleges of Spokane’s new vice president for instruction. Martin, who has previously served as a faculty member and head women’s soccer coach for Eastern Washington University, has worked at Spokane’s community colleges for 17 years. Andrew Feldman, Ph.D., has been selected as the vice president for learning at Spokane Falls Community College. He has 19 years teaching and administrative experience and is the dean of science, engineering and mathematics at Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon.

The Community Colleges of Spokane have also announced Heather Beebe-Stevens has been named executive director of the CCS Foundation. Beebe-Stevens is the executive director for the Spokane Parks Foundation and has worked for the Spokane Symphony and the Spokane Center for Justice. She begins as executive director June 12.

Engineering

STRATA, an engineering firm specializing in environmental and geotechnical, has announced James P. Murphy as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. Murphy joined STRATA in 2011 as Chief Operations Officer.

Forestry

The Washington Agriculture and Forestry Education Foundation has announced the graduation of its 38th Leadership Program class. Local graduates include: Brian Baumann of BMB Farm Inc./DRJ Farm, from Washtucna; Sonja Jensen of Northwest Farm Credit Services, from Spokane; Bjorn Gjerde of Senske Lawn and Tree Care, from Kennewick; Dennis Swinger of Franz Farms LTD, from Lind; and Ryan Holterhoff of the Washington State Potato Commission, from Moses Lake. The program, comprised of 11 three-day seminars, a seven-day seminar in Washington, D.C., and a two-week seminar in India and Nepal, focuses on building skills to successfully collaborate, develop and advocate for Washington’s natural resources.

Health

Jacob Blazzard, a pediatrics physician assistant at Pullman Pediatrics, has completed his certification as an asthma educator. Blazzard will educate those with asthma and their families on ways to manage their asthma and develop skills to maximize quality of life. Blazzard has been with Palouse Pediatrics since 2014.

Insurance

Farmer Stockman Insurance has hired Janell Brown and Jesus Hermosillo as insurance sales professionals. Both specialize in life insurance and fixed annuities.

Mining

Senior Vice President–Exploration Dean McDonald, of Hecla Mining Company, received the A.O. Dufresne Exploration Achievement Award, recognizing his contributions to Canada’s mining exploration. The award was presented by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum at the Institute’s annual gala in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Robert Efford has been named Chief Executive Officer of Embassy Management L.L.C.. Efford is president of the organization and has been with Embassy since 2016.

The Blood Center Foundation of the Inland Northwest has announced recipients of education grants, awarded at the April board meeting. The foundation will give $4,500 each to Community Colleges of Spokane, Lewis-Clark State College and North Idaho College for the Blood Center Foundation of the Inland Northwest Phlebotomy Scholarship. The Foundation also announced 10 $2,000 grants for elementary or middle schools in Eastern Washington and North Idaho that are involved with INBC’s blood drive efforts.
