Jeff McKee has been promoted to senior vice president/commercial loan team leader at State Bank Northwest. McKee has been with the Spokane-based bank since 2012 and has 13 years of commercial lending experience.

Newmark, a San Francisco-based, privately held mortgage banking firm, has named Demetri Koston a partner and principal for Newmark’s Spokane office. The office serves clients with commercial real estate finance needs across the Northwest. Koston founded the Spokane office in 2009.

Hospitality

Tobby Hatley has been named local government affairs manager in Spokane by the Washington Hospitality Association. Hatley has more than 30 years of experience in television, radio, print, politics and marketing, including 14 years as a broadcast journalist with KHQ-TV in Spokane.

Law

Elder Law Group PLLC has been named to the Law Firm 500 Award Committee’s list of 2017 honorees, which recognizes firms that have achieved significant growth in revenue. The firm, with offices in Spokane and the Tri-Cities, ranked 25th on the Law Firm 500 Honorees List, achieving 403.5 percent growth over three years.

Medicine

Cancer Care Northwest has announced the addition of Drs. Vijay Narendran and Dr. Jessemae Welsh to the practice. Narendran is a medical oncologist and hematologist who specializes in head, neck and lung cancers as well as lymphoma and leukemia. Welsh is a breast surgical oncologist who is trained in the latest surgical techniques, treating all types of breast disease.

InnerPacific Alliance for Cancer Care is now The Alliance for Cancer Care. The Alliance for Cancer Care is a 2-year-old collaboration between Providence Health Care, Kootenai Health and Cancer Care Northwest, created to offer accessibility to the area’s best cancer-care teams and technology.

Miscellaneous

Mike Thrasher has been named manager of Golden Rule Brake’s north Monroe Street location. Thrasher, promoted from auto technician, has been with Golden Rule Brake for three years.

Jessica Kirk has been promoted to director of business retention and expansion at Greater Spokane Incorporated. Kirk most recently was the manager of a government contracting program at GSI, helping companies expand business through government contracting, and spent three years in GSI’s Membership Development Division.

Scott Carson has been awarded the Weldon B. “Hoot” Gibson Distinguished Volunteer Award, Washington State University Foundation’s highest honor. The retired Boeing Commercial Airlines president and CEO was recognized for helping to create the Boeing Scholars Program, allowing STEM, business and communication students hands-on learning experiences. Carson and his wife, Linda, are longtime donors to WSU, supporting scholarships and facilities. The Carson College of Business was named for the couple in 2014.

Nonprofit

NEXUS Inland NW has appointed Anita Reynolds as interim executive director during the search for a replacement for former Executive Director Bart Williams. The nonprofit began in 1980 and provides support and services to the deaf and hard of hearing.

Real Estate

Tim Moore and Kathy Edlund have opened a United Country Real Estate franchise in Hayden. United Country Real Estate|Northwest Land and Lifestyle Properties will represent buyers and sellers of properties ranging from timberland to luxury estates. Moore is a forester with 14 years of experience with private lumber companies and has five years experience buying and selling timberland. Edlund, a land-use specialist and broker, has 10 years of real estate experience, specializing in land valuation, property development and negotiation.
