Morning prep roundup: Idaho state tournaments start to heat up; Sandpoint boys soccer advances behind Noah Hastings’ brace

Noah Hastings slotted home two goals for Sandpoint and they defeated Burley 4-0 on Thursday in the first round of the Idaho 4A state tournament. Lucas Koch scored the opening goal in the 48th minute for the Bulldogs.

Sarah Hines scored twice, including the game-winner, and Coeur d’Alene Charter defeated Sugar-Salem 2-1 on Thursday in the first round of Idaho’s 3A state tournament.

Carolyn Wendel crushed a triple with one out in the top of the seventh inning and advanced home on an obstruction call for the walk-off win and Mead beat Rogers in a 14-13 in a district playoff game on Thursday. Mead advanced to play Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
