Marshalls to open Moscow store

Massachusetts-based retailer Marshalls has plans to open a new store in Moscow’s Palouse Mall on Thursday. A grand opening ceremony with giveaways is planned for 8-10 a.m.

Marshalls will present a $10,000 donation to Alternatives to Violence, a 24-hour emergency and support service provider for to victims of family and sexual violence, according to a company news release.

The store at 2230 W. Pullman Road is expected to bring about 60- full and part-time jobs to the community, the release said.

Insurance agencies help secure Honor Flight grant

The Inland Northwest Honor Flight recently qualified for a $7,000 Allstate Helping Hands in the Community grant.

Local Allstate agencies in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene helped in securing the grant. The Inland Northwest Honor Flight flies veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials commemorating their service and sacrifice.

Business raises $21,000 for breast cancer efforts

Paddy’s Sports Bar’s annual BreastFest event raised $21,080 for the Kootenai Health Foundation, Panhandle Health District and Susan G. Komen Idaho. The funds will go toward the Panhandle Health District’s mammography program and the Kootenai Health Foundation’s cancer patient support fund.
