Volleyball roundup: Kate Budig has 16 kills and Gonzaga Prep handles Shadle Park

Kate Budig had 16 assists with two aces and visiting Gonzaga Prep (2-0) beat Shadle Park (0-3) in straight sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-14) on Tuesday in a Greater Spokane League match on Tuesday. Whitley Orvik had six kills for the Highlanders.

Central Valley 3, Rogers 0: Hannah Wample led visiting Central Valley (3-0) with 14 assists, Paige Wollan added 10 kills and the Bears beat Rogers (0-2) in straight sets (25-7, 25-14, 25-13) in Greater Spokane League play on Tuesday.

University 3, North Central 0: Rachael Schlect had 13 kills with two blocks and University (1-0) handled visiting North Central (0-3) in straight sets (25-14, 25-9, 25-9) in a Greater Spokane League match on Tuesday. Alana Glubrecht had eight digs with an ace for North Central.

Mt. Spokane 3, Lewis and Clark 0: Lina Ama registered nine aces and visiting Mt. Spokane (2-1) defeated Lewis and Clark (1-3) in straight sets (25-10, 25-13, 25-20) in a Greater Spokane League match on Tuesday. Miahna Waters added 16 kills for the Wildcats.

Mead 3, Ferris 0: McKenna Russell spiked 10 kills with seven blocks as Mead (3-0, 2-0) defeated visiting Ferris (3-2, 2-1) in three sets (25-13, 25-11, 25-20) on Tuesday in GSL play. Allie Russell added 13 assists and Elena Gardner recorded 21 digs.

Great Northern

Pullman 3, Cheney 0: Kelsey Nestegard spiked 12 kills with 13 digs and Pullman (3-0) defeated visiting Cheney (3-1) in three sets (25-12, 2-19, 25-22) in Great Northern League play. Peyton Stark had 16 assists for Cheney.

West Valley 3, Clarkston 1: Jaylynn Buehler recorded eight kills and visiting West Valley (2-3) beat Clarkston (1-4) in four sets (25-14, 23-25, 25-16, 25-18). Emma Williams added four aces for the Eagles.

Northeast A

Lakeside (WA) 3, Medical Lake 0: Saelor Dvorak served five aces with 11 digs and visiting Lakeside (6-0) swept Medical Lake (0-7) in three sets (25-6, 25-6, 25-8) in Northeast A action on Tuesday. Reagan Elzey added 16 assists for the Eagles.

Freeman 3, Riverside 0: Ailsa Hansen had 25 assists with a pair of blocks and Freeman (4-1) defeated visiting Riverside (1-5) in straight sets (25-10, 25-11, 25-13) in Northeast A play on Tuesday. Hannah Hansen led the Scotties with three aces and eight digs while Rhea Jansen led with three aces and 13 kills.

Chewelah 3, Colville 2: Elizabeth Chalmers had 12 kills with two service aces and visiting Chewelah (4-3) downed Colville (4-2) in five sets (23-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-14, 17-15) in Northeast A play on Tuesday. Kaitlyn Petrey led Colville with 15 kills and 21 digs.

Deer Park 3, Newport 2: Taylor Tarble tallied 15 kills with 21 digs and Deer Park (3-3) defeated visiting Newport (3-4) in five sets (25-17, 20-25, 16-25, 25-21, 9-15) in a Northeast A league match on Tuesday.

Colfax 3, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 0: Carmen Gfeller had 11 kills, five aces and three blocks and visiting Colfax (2-0) defeated Lind-Ritzville/Sprague (1-1) in a sweep (26-16, 25-13, 25-16) in a Northeast 2B match on Tuesday.

Northwest Christian 3, Kettle Falls 0: Paige Dawson scored eight aces and visiting Northwest Christian (2-0) beat Kettle Falls (1-1) in straight sets (25-9, 25-12, 25-12). Emma Sweatman added six kills with seven digs.

Liberty 3, Tekoa-Rosalia 0: Kendyl Fletcher had 17 assists and Liberty (2-0) beat visiting Tekoa-Rosalia ( 0-1) in straight sets (25-23, 25-19, 25-19). Hana McMullen had 17 digs for the Timberwolves.

Republic 3, Columbia 0: Madysen McLain had three blocks, five assists and an ace and Republic (6-1) defeated Columbia ( 0-6) in straight sets (25-12, 25-12, 25-12).

Valley Christian 3, Curlew 0: Phoebe Trigsted served eight aces with eight kills and Valley Christian (3-3) beat visiting Curlew (1-5) in straight sets (25-20, 26-24, 25-21). Kendra Pope added eight kills with five aces.

Northport 3, Wellpinit 2: Hailey Young recorded 11 kills with six aces and Northport (4-2) defeated visiting Wellpinit (2-4) in five sets (22-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-11, 26-14).

Oakesdale 3, St. John-Endicott 0: Logan Reed had 12 kills, seven digs and four aces and Oakesdale (1-0) beat visiting St. John-Endicott (0-1) in straight sets (25-13, 25-16, 25-14). Drew Curtis-Brewer had five kills with a block for SJE.
