Police investigating fatal shooting in East Central neighborhood
Police are investigating a domestic violence shooting thought to have occurred in Spokane’s East Central neighborhood Saturday night.
Spokane police officers say a man was shot in a residence in the 3100 block of East Eighth Avenue, near Underhill Park, at around 7:30 p.m., according to a news release. One person of interest was detained, though police wouldn’t say if the person was arrested.
Officers were at the scene for several hours interviewing witnesses. They said it appears the shooter and victim knew each other.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner will release the identity and cause of death for the man who was shot.
