“We’re thrilled to come to Spokane for the area’s inaugural Chef Battle,” Matt Hensler, founder of Social Power Hour, said in a news release about the event. “The competition will be fierce and the community has been so supportive that we’re hoping to make this an annual event!”
Attendees will receive free samples from each chef, sponsored drink tickets, and a ballot to help select the crowd’s favorite dish.
The crowd’s choice and judge’s choice advance to the West Coast Regionals in California on Nov. 3, 2019, for a chance to move to the All-American Chef Battle in early 2020.
The event takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 6 at CenterPlace Regional Event Center, 2426 N. Discovery Place, in Spokane Valley.
Sponsors include Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores, Maryhill Winery, Spokane Culinary Arts Guild, Try This Dish Radio and Food News Today. Charity partners include Golden Rule Charity and Big Table.
