Mac and cheese, please

Mark your calendars: Coeur d’Alene’s second annual Mac & Cheese Festival is Jan. 19.

Local chefs will be competing for the Golden Noodle Award. And attendees will get to vote on their favorites for the People’s Choice Trophy as well as sample craft beers along with the fest’s signature menu item.

The Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association sponsors the event, which runs from noon to 6 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Convention Center, 115 S. Second St.

Children’s tickets – for youngsters 12 and under – are $10 each and good for four mac and cheese samplers. The “Mac Pack” is $20 and good for six mac and cheese samplers. And, for the 21-and-over crowd, the “Mac and Beer” combo is $30 and good for six mac and cheese samplers, plus a commemorative pint glass and two 16-ounce pours.

Tickets for additional beers and mac and cheese samplers will also be available for purchase.

Note: all mac and cheese samplers must be consumed on site at the event. There are no to-go boxes. Ticket packages may not be shared between multiple people.
