MultiCare launches community fund to support local nonprofits work on health issues

MultiCare Health System has launched a community fund to support Inland Northwest nonprofits working to improve the health of the region.

Tacoma-based MultiCare bought Deaconess and Valley hospitals and Rockwood Clinic last year.

Nonprofit organizations in nine Washington and Idaho counties may apply for the grants, which will be reviewed by MultiCare officials throughout the year.

The fund supports MultiCare’s mission of creating partnerships to advance health in the region, said Chris Wherity, director of community outreach.

“We are committed to collaborating with organizations that also are focused on improving the quality of life for all of our neighbors right here in the Inland Northwest,” Wherity said.
