Driver in custody after multiple crashes, wrecking his vehicle; drugs suspected

A suspect is in custody after causing several serious crashes in Washington and Idaho and totaling his vehicle on eastbound Interstate 90 in Idaho near milepost 11, according to police.

The driver, who was suspected to be under the influence of drugs, was taken into custody at the scene of the final crash Friday, according to a message released by Idaho State Police. Troopers and Coeur d’Alene firefighters were on the scene.

ISP reported around 6:40 p.m. that both lanes of traffic had been cleared; however, motorists continued to report stalled traffic as far west as Post Falls.
