Gonzaga climber competing on world stage

Gonzaga University senior Hannah Tolson will compete in the 2018 World University Championships in Slovakia starting Wednesday.

Tolson, an honors student at Gonzaga, is competing in three events – sport climbing, speed climbing and bouldering. She was the only competitor to make it to the world stage in all three.

“I was the only athlete, male or female, to make it to worlds in all three disciplines,” Tolson told Gonzaga’s news service. “I liked doing three competitions stacked on top of each other, but it was really physically and emotionally exhausting.”

Last year Tolson won the USA Climbing Collegiate National Championships.
