Forks student arrested, expelled over alleged threats
PORT ANGELES, Wash. – A Forks High School student has been expelled and arrested in connection with alleged threats to kill a classmate and a manifesto about killing someone.
The Peninsula Daily News reported 19-year-old Kelvin Banks was arrested Wednesday for investigation of felony harassment with threats to kill.
Court documents said a student told police that Banks made repeated sexual comments toward her and that she confronted him about it Tuesday.
A probable cause affidavit said witnesses reported Banks became upset and made statements about wanting to kill her.
Prosecutors said Forks police executing search warrants found nine firearms, including an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, in Banks’ bedroom, and the manifesto.
A Clallam County Superior Court judge set Banks’ bail at $100,000.
Defense attorney John Black unsuccessfully requested a reduced bail, saying his client had no criminal history and comes from a family of sportsmen and firearm enthusiasts.
