Comments sought for proposed railway bridge near Sandpoint

The Idaho Department of Lands has set a date for public hearings concerning a proposed railroad bridge near Sandpoint.

BNSF Railway Co. has submitted an application to built a train bridge west of the existing bridge across Lake Pend Oreille and Sand Creek.

The two public hearings will occur on May 23, 2018.

The first session will start at 8 a.m. at the Ponderay Events Center (401 Bonner Mall Way, Suite E, Ponderay).

The second session will start at 6 p.m. at the Sandpoint Middle School Gymnasium (310 S. Division, Sandpoint).

The public comment period will remain open until May 23. Comments can be emailed to comments@idl.idaho.gov or submitted at idl.idaho.gov/comment.html.
