Reward offered in Idaho grizzly poaching case
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Citizens Against Poaching are each offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of whoever shot and killed a female grizzly in Idaho, according to a news release.
The collared bear was killed on Sept. 4 and found on Sept. 8 at Spruce Lake in northern Boundary County.
The bear was spotted with two cubs earlier in the year, said IDFG conservation officer Brian Johnson in a previous interview. He said there was reason to believe the cubs were not killed at the scene.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services Forensic Lab determined that animal was 15 years old and was shot. The grizzly had been collared in the same general area on Sept. 18, 2017, according to a Fish and Wildlife news release.
