Police were called to the 200 block of South Wall Street just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Spokane police said in a news release. When officers arrived, an off-duty doctor was treating the victim, who was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Investigators were unable to find a witness and security camera footage of the scene was not immediately accessible to officers, police said.

The victim was wearing a red windbreaker jacket and red sweatpants and in his late 50s.

Police are asking anyone in the area of the hit-and-run when the incident occurred to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233 if they haven’t already talked to police.
