Spokane Walmart celebrates end of renovations Friday

The autonomous janitors that will be used to clean floors at some Walmart stores by the end of January can do their job on their own, according to their developer, San Diego-based startup Brian Corp. (Alan Diaz / AP)

The Spokane Walmart at 9212 N. Colton St. will celebrate the completion of a store remodel with a ceremony at 8 a.m. Friday.

Walmart Foundation is donating $25,000 to Visit Spokane and two grants totaling $1,500 to One Heart and the Boys & Girls Club of Spokane. Walmart’s construction company, Austin Jones, also will present $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs.

The renovated store will include a pickup tower, where customers can retrieve items they ordered online starting Nov. 1.
