Downtown apartment fire ruled accidental
Fire investigators ruled a March 20 apartment fire in downtown Spokane, sparked by a bedside candle, as accidental.
The candle lit a pillow on fire when the resident was asleep, according to a news release from the Spokane Fire Department. Firefighters responded to the fire that scorched three apartments at 7 a.m. on the 300 block of West Fourth Avenue.
Other than one firefighter who suffered from dehydration, no one was injured in the fire.
