Prep roundup: Jeff Friedman scores four goals in Lakeside win over Colville

Boys soccer

Lakeside (WA) 8, Colville 2: Jeff Friedman registered four goals and an assist as the Eagles (3-0-0-0) beat the visiting Indians (2-1-0-0) in a battle at the top of the Northeast A league table on Monday.

Newport 2, Riverside 1 (SO): Enzo Baccarin scored in the 78th minute on a penalty kick to tie it up and again in the shootout to help the visiting Grizzlies (0-1-1-0) beat the Rams (2-1-0-1) in an NEA match on Monday. Adam Moorhead recorded 11 saves for Newport.

Deer Park 10, Northwest Christian 0: Chase Sanchez had a hat trick in the first 18 minutes and Diego Vasquez added two goals and an assist as the Stags (2-1-0-0) beat the visiting Crusaders (0-3-0-0) in an NEA match on Tuesday.

Pasco 3, North Central 0: Alejandro Vega scored twice and the Bulldogs (6-1-0) beat the Indians (3-5-0) in a nonleague match.

Baseball

Post Falls 8-0, Lakeland 2-3: Kevin Lebsock went 2 for 3 with four RBIs and a stolen base and the Trojans (3-3) topped the visiting Hawks (1-6-2) in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader on Monday. Austin Higgins struck out five over four shutout innings and allowed three hits and one walk.

In the nightcap, Cameron Harris pitched four shutout, no-hit innings in relief and the Hawks (2-6-2) beat the Trojans (3-4). Isaac Silva and Vanner Hegbloom drove in runs for Lakeland.

Harris entered the game in the first inning after Harrison Kiefer walked the first two batters of the game then went the distance. Harris struck out four and walked six.

Chewelah 6-4, Kettle Falls 2-1: Andrew Sweat went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and struck out seven batters over four innings as the visiting Cougars (4-3) beat the Bulldogs (1-4) in the first game of a league doubleheader on Tuesday. Zak Kubik was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs and Johnny Larson went 3 for 4 with a run scored for Chewelah.

In the second game, Jake Jenneret went 2 for 3 with a run scored and Justin Rollis scattered five hits over six innings while striking out seven as the visiting Cougars (5-3) beat the Bulldogs (1-5).

Softball

East Valley 4, Ferris 3: Maddie Camyn 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Abby Brake hit a solo homer and allowed two hits while striking out three over three innings to help the Knights (1-2) beat the visiting Saxons (1-2) in a nonleague game on Tuesday.
