Prep baseball: Rylan Redden’s home run helps Central Valley stay one game back of Mt. Spokane in GSL

Rylan Redden went 2 for 2 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs and Central Valley (14-2) beat Shadle Park (9-7) 12-2 on Saturday in a Greater Spokane League game.

Kyle Parkman went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Jaden Stough went 3 for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Bears. Dalton Dawson went 2 for 3 with an RBI for Shadle Park.

Mt. Spokane 10, Mead 1: Stu Flesland allowed four hits and two walks over six innings with three strikeouts and the Wildcats (15-1) topped the visiting Panthers (9-7). Nate Naccarato and Quentin Ayers had two hits with an RBI apiece for Mt. Spokane.

Gonzaga Prep 10, North Central 2: at Whitworth: Ryun Cross struck out eight over five innings and the visiting Bullpups (8-8) beat the Indians (3-13) at Whitworth. Austin Reed went 2 for 4 with four RBIs and Noah Drynan went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for Gonzaga Prep.

Ferris 7, Lewis and Clark 5: Eric Mast went 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs and earned the save as visiting Ferris (10-6) held off Lewis and Clark (2-14) at Hart Field. Dylan Bohnert went 2 for 4 with a run and picked up the win with six strong innings and Levi Fields added three hits and a run.

University 17, Rogers 5: Cannon Marshall went 4 for 5 with three RBIs and the visiting Titans (9-7) beat the Pirates (1-15).

Great Northern League

Pullman 3, Cheney 2: Hyatt Utzman had nine strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings, Payton Kallaher went 3 for 3, and the Greyhounds (7-1) defeated the visiting Blackhaws (8-2) in the first game of a doubleheader.

Pullman 5, Cheney 1: Hyatt Utzman and Mitch Lavielle each had two sixth-inning RBIs and the Greyhounds (8-1) defeated the visiting Blackhawks (8-3) in the second game of a doubleheader on.

Northeast A

Deer Park 10, Freeman 0: Hunter Dryden struck out 13 and drove in three runs on a pair of doubles and the visiting Stags (8-2) defeated the Scotties (9-2) in the first game of a doubleheader.

Freeman 18, Deer Park 4: Jace Phelan hit for the cycle and drove in four runs and the visiting Scotties (10-2) defeated the Stags (8-3) in the second game of a doubleheader.

Colville 19, Medical Lake 7: John Knight drove in three runs on three hits and the visiting Indians (9-2) defeated the Cardinals (4-7).

Lakeside 9, Riverside 8: Nick Pavlin hit a two RBI walk off double and the Eagles (3-8) beat the Rams (2-8).

Northeast 1B

Columbia 17, Northport 4: Corbin Nelson came on in relief and had seven strikeouts in four innings and the visiting Lions (1-6) beat the Mustangs (0-11) in the first game of a doubleheader.

Northport 19, Columbia 4: Phillips Romney threw a complete game three-hitter, Conner Malcolm went 2 for 2 with three RBIs, and the Mustangs (1-11) beat the visiting Lions (1-7) in the second game of a doubleheader.

Curlew 12, Republic 2: Spencer Fanning drilled a 3-run inside the park home run and the Cougars (5-6) defeated the visiting Tigers (2-7) in the first game of a doubleheader.

Curlew 4, Republic 2: Gunnar Hilderbrandt struck out 10 and allowed three hits in six innings and the Cougars (6-6) defeated the visiting Tigers (2-8) in the second game of a doubleheader.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 22, Cusick 1: Dalton Ketner had nine strikeouts in a four-inning complete game and the visiting Warriors (11-0) beat the Panthers (6-5) in the first game of a doubleheader.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 28, Cusick 0: Chase Gerard threw a four-inning complete game, allowing just one hit, and the visiting Warriors (12-0) beat the Panthers (6-6) in the second game of a doubleheader.

Nonleague

Colfax 1, Orofino 0: Nate Akesson allowed three hits and three walks with eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 scoreless innings and the visiting Bulldogs (12-4) beat the Maniacs (1-4) in the first game of a doubleheader. Akesson went 1 for 1 with a double and two walks and scored on Kelan Becker’s single in the top of the sixth inning.

Colfax 13, Orofino 4: Eric Akesson had three RBIs and two runs, Nate Akesson went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs and the visiting Bulldogs (13-4) beat the Maniacs (1-5) in the second game of a doubleheader. Layne Gingerich gave up two earned runs while scattering six hits over six innings with seven strikeouts for Colfax.

Idaho

Coeur d’Alene 6, Lewiston 5: Noah Mayfield went 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs and the visiting Vikings (7-0) beat the Bengals (4-5) in the first game of a 5A Inland Empire doubleheader.

Coeur d’Alene 7, Lewiston 0: Cody Davenport pitched six scoreless innings, allowing two with and three walks with five strikeouts, and the visiting Vikings (8-0) beat the Bengals (4-6) in the second game of a doubleheader. Colt Rowley went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run and Quinton Bunch had three RBIs for Coeur d’Alene.

Priest River 11, Kellogg 3: Justin Allbee had 11 strikeouts and the visiting Spartans (3-7) beat the Wildcats (1-9) in a Intermountain League doubleheader.

Priest River 28, Kellogg 3: Lathe Moran 2 for 4 with four RBIs and the Justin visiting Spartans (2-7) beat the Wildcats (1-8) in the second game of an Intermountian League doubleheader. Justin Allbee went 3 for 4 with three RBIs for Priest River.
