Former Bobcat Skier Danza Named Assistant Alpine Coach

August 12, 2019 – BOZEMAN, Mont. – Former Montana State skier Emily Danza has been named assistant alpine coach at her alma mater, announced head coach Kevin Francis. Danza, who graduated from MSU in 2014 with a degree in physiological psychology, returns to the Blue & Gold following a stint coaching the Under 14 and FIS programs at Eldora Mountain Ski Club in Colorado. Prior to leading Eldora Mountain to national and international competition and training, Danza served as the U-16 and FIS coach with the Bridger Ski Foundation from 2014-17. “With her experience racing on the college circuit along with coaching and sports psychology background, Emily will help the Bobcat skiers shoot for a national championship on home snow in March,” Francis said. “We are excited to welcome Emily back to the Bobcat family.” Danza, who skied for the Bobcats from 2010-14, is a sport and performance consultant and received her Master of Arts degree in sports and performance psychology from Denver in June. As a senior, Danza qualified for the 2014 NCAA Skiing Championships in Park City, Utah. A graduate of Bozeman High, she was born and raised in Italy and is fluent in English, Italian and French. She is a member of the United States Ski and Snowboard Association and is a certified USSSA Level 200-Alpine Ski Coach.
