Reward offered for information about firearms stolen from Mead store

From staff reports

An unidentified man stole several firearms from a store in Mead on Saturday, and three organizations were offering a reward Wednesday for information leading to an arrest.

A man wearing glasses and a camouflage hat with ear flaps broke into North 40 Outfitters on North Newport Highway, according to a news release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. The man smashed the glass of a gun case with a large splitting maul or ax and took seven guns, then ran out the back door of the building.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has released video footage of the burglary. Despite the poor quality of the footage, investigators say they hope people might recognize the mannerisms or clothing of the suspect.

Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation have each offered rewards for information leading to an arrest.
