Girls basketball: Quincy McDeid’s buzzer-beater puts North Central in semis of District 8 3A tourney
Quincy McDeid scored 17 points, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer, and North Central’s girls (12-9) beat visiting Hermiston (8-14) 51-48 in overtime in a District 8 3A first-round game on Tuesday.
Adria Blocker added 11 points for the Indians, who travel to MCC No. 1 seed Kamiakin on Friday in a semifinal. Hermiston plays in a loser-out on Tuesday.
Kennewick 90, Shadle Park 29: Maddie Gebers scored 19 points and the Lions (18-4) beat the visiting Highlanders (2-19). Kennewick travels to GSL No. 1 seed Mt. Spokane on Friday. Shadle Park plays in a loser-out on Tuesday.

Colville 60, Lakeside (WA) 47: Hallie Cox scored 15 points and the Indians (12-9) eliminated the visiting Eagles (6-15). Kendra Gay led Lakeside with 15 points. Colville faces No. 1 seed Medical Lake in a semifinal on Friday.
Deer Park 42, Riverside 20: Payge Rose and Anna Patterson scored 10 points apiece and the Stags (16-5) eliminated the Rams (6-16). Ava West led Riverside with 11 points. Deer Park plays No. 2 seed Freeman in a semifinal on Friday.

Reardan 30, Kettle Falls 20: Kimberly Dewey scored 11 points and the Indians (10-10) topped the Bulldogs (10-11). Reardan faces Davenport in a semi on Thursday. KF plays a loser-out on Saturday.
St. George’s 52, Tekoa-Rosalia 20: Abby Jones scored 21 points and the Dragons (12-9) topped the Timberwolves (2-20). St. George’s plays Lind-Ritzville/Sprague in a semi on Thursday. T-R plays in a loser-out game on Saturday.
Chewelah 37, Asotin 28: Bailey Smith scored 11 points and the Cougars (11-10) beat the Panthers (2-18). Kylan Hernandez led Asotin with 17 points, including four 3-pointers. Chewelah plays Liberty in a semi on Thursday, and Asotin plays a loser-out game Saturday.

Wellpinit 70, Curlew 57: Ashlynn Hill scored 20 points and the visiting Redskins (15-5) defeated the Cougars (11-7). Korin Baker led Curlew with 35 points and 20 rebounds. Wellpinit advances to a semi while Curlew faces a loser-out Saturday.

Inchelium 52, Valley Christian 35: Rylee Desautel scored 24 points and the visiting Hornets (14-7) beat the Panthers (13-7). Phoebe Trigsted had 15 points for Valley Christian, which plays Odessa in a loser-out on Saturday.

Lake City 44, Coeur d’Alene 30: Bridget Rieken scored 13 points, Aubrey Avery added 12 and the Timberwolves (20-3) beat the visiting Vikings (8-9) in the 5A District 1-2 title game. Kelly Horning led Coeur d’Alene with 12 points. The Vikings face Post Falls in a loser-out on Thursday.
Post Falls 57, Lewiston 50: The Trojans (7-17) eliminated the visiting Bengals (9-14) in a 5A District 1-2 loser-out.
Lakeland 51, Moscow 37: Katy Ryan had 22 points, eight rebounds and nine blocks to help the Hawks (9-10) beat the Bears (8-14) in Game 1 of the best-of-three 4A District 1 series at North Idaho College. Game 2 is Friday at Lakeland.
Grangeville 43, St. Maries 34: The Bulldogs (14-7) beat the Lumberjacks (12-9) in the 2A District 1-2 Game 1 at Genesee HS. Game 2 of the best-of-three series is Thursday.
