Hilton has plans to expand its Tru by Hilton hotel brand into Washington with a new property south of Mirabeau Park in Spokane Valley.
GL8 Hospitality, LLC filed a preliminary application with the city to build a 43,000-square-foot, four-story Tru by Hilton property on the northeast corner of Mansfield Avenue and Mirabeau Parkway.
The 3-acre site is owned by Centennial Properties, a subsidiary of Cowles Co., which also publishes The Spokesman-Review.
Tru by Hilton is an affordable hotel brand aimed at younger travelers that features “efficiently designed rooms,” a build-your-own “Top It” breakfast bar and a “Eat & Sip” market with gourmet snacks and drinks, according to Hilton.
Tru by Hilton offers mobile check-in, digital room keys, a social media wall, lobby tablets and a large public space for guests. Each property showcases murals inspired by the surrounding neighborhood.
Honolulu-based FSC Architects is designing the project.
Hilton has more than 17 hotel brands with 5,700 properties worldwide. Tru by Hilton has 60 locations nationwide, including a property in Idaho Falls that opened in June.
