1. Spokane Valley Farmers Market 5-8 p.m. Fridays through Sept. 13, CenterPlace Regional Event Center, 2426 N. Discovery Place, Spokane Valley. The farmers market is in its first season, and its family-friendly environment includes music, food trucks, local artisan crafters, food processors, farms, baked goods, produce, plus a beer garden for adults. 2. Game On! 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Terrace View Park, 13525 E. 24th Ave. Celebrate Parks and Recreation Month with a family day including open swim, grilled cheese bites, hot dogs, frozen treats, music by Justin James Band and additional outdoor activities. 3. Royal Fireworks Concert 9 p.m. Sunday, Riverfront Park, 507 N. Howard St. Hosted by Spokane Historic Concerts, the night begins with performances by Spokane Ballet Studio from 7-8 p.m. The concert features the 60-piece Royal Band and concludes with Handel’s “Music for the Royal Fireworks” with a choreographed firework display. 4. Honor Flight Car Show 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Fraternal Order of Eagles, 6410 N. Lidgerwood St. Proceeds from donations benefit Inland Northwest Honor Flight, whose mission is to transport Inland Northwest war veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifice. 5. Dog Days of Summer 10 a.m.-5 p.m. today-Sunday, Inland Northwest Rail Museum, 27300 Sprinkle Road North, Reardan. The Shook Twins – identical twin sisters Katelyn and Laurie Shook – are a folk music group from Sandpoint who formed in 2004. They also are performing at the Festival at Sandpoint on Aug. 2. 10. “The Merry Wives of Windsor” 5 p.m. Sunday, Pavillion Park, 727 N. Molter Road, Liberty Lake. Performed by Montana Shakespeare in the Parks. Duels, deceit and attempted seduction alight in this comedy featuring the beloved Sir John Falstaff. Watch as he tries to fool two clever women and has the tables turned on him instead.
