Races return to Big Sky Speedway on Saturday

Mother Nature has not been kind to Big Sky Speedway this season. All of their races so far have been cancelled at some point due to rain. On Saturday, Big Sky Speedway will have a make-up race. The race will feature Wissota B Mods, Wissota Street Stocks, IMCA Mods, and ASCS Frontier Region Sprint Cars. Big Sky Speedway was built 15 years ago by Harvey Ostermiller. After Ostermiller passed away, Shane Liebig and Jerry Brey have resurrected the dirt track. IMCA Modifieds driver Kenny “Banzai” Baumann has been racing for 28 years. In those years he’s won 16 championships. Despite some serious injuries in his past, he’ll be back this weekend with the IMCA Mods to enjoy the thrill of racing. “You hit that first corner and you don’t think of nothing else but its corner to corner your mind is actually relaxed and at ease and to hit that first one sideways doing right around you’re hitting straightaway at 90-95 going sideways into the corner its just a thrill and where most people are going left you’re steering right,” said Baumann. Gates open at Big Sky Speedway at 6 PM on Saturday. Races start at 7:25 sharp. You can find more information on bigskyspeedway.com. There will be no races on Friday.
