S-R outdoor contributors bring home awards
Three Spokesman-Review outdoor contributors brought home awards for their 2018 writing.
Alan Liere and Matt Liere won numerous awards at the Northwest Outdoor Writers Association.
Alan Liere won first place in Excellence in Craft contest for his piece “The Aging Outdoorsman” among other awards.
Matt Liere took home a first place award for his piece “The Ice Whisperer” and received the Column of the Year award for his trio of entries “Ease Up on Throttle,” “Behind Every Outdoorsman Stands a Mother” and “Aging- A Matter of Perspective.”
Matt Liere also took home several other awards.
Meanwhile, William Brock won second place for outdoor writing in the Idaho Press Club’s annual awards contest for his story “Rapid Lessons” a story about paddling the Grande Ronde River with his daughter.
