Boil order lifted for most of Liberty Lake
The boil order for the Liberty Lake area was lifted for all but a few residences the day before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Many Liberty Lake residents have been boiling their water since Nov. 20 after E. coli bacteria was detected in Liberty Lake Sewer & Water District’s water. The boil order was lifted Wednesday for all residents except those living north of East Appleway Avenue and to the south of Interstate 90, according to a news release.
A boil order remains in place for residents to the east of North McKenzie Lane, including North Madson Street and to the west of Liberty Lake State Line Trail. People in this area should avoid brushing their teeth or cooking with unboiled water.
The water district encourages any customers who are uncertain whether their water is safe to contact the water district.
