Spokane sheriff arrests 20-time felon for possession of large amount of meth
Spokane County Sheriff’s Office investigators and a SWAT team arrested a 20-time convicted felon Friday morning in the Bemiss neighborhood with a large amount of methamphetamine, a news release said.
Joseph A. Gariepy, 49, was under investigation for the possession and possible distribution of meth. Investigators arrested him at his home on the 4000 block of North Pittsburg Street just after 7 a.m.
Investigators located meth and more than $12,000 in cash, according to the release. Several other people also were detained and released.
Gariepy was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Gariepy has previously been convicted of charges including robbery, burglary and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
