Warmer temperatures expected today

Temperatures may be warming up in Spokane but with rain and snow set to fall throughout Thursday, roads could still be slick.
City snow crews worked through the night to improve road condition and will continue to deice, sand and plow on Thursday, the city said in a tweet. Thursday afternoon the city plans to work on residential areas that need additional attention.
Stevens Pass has been closed since Sunday and remained closed until Thursday afternoon. Snoqualmie Pass is open but has compact snow and ice on the road with snow continuing to fall, according to the Department of Transportation.
Schools south of Spokane continued to have late starts throughout the week. Freeman, Liberty and Rosalia, school districts had two-hour late starts on Thursday with both Pullman and Colfax school districts running modified bus routes.
Thursday night the low temperature is expected to be 25 degrees, more than a 10 degree increase from earlier in the week, according to the National Weather Service.
The Friday high is expected to reach 32 degrees with a chance of snow in the evening. Snow is forecast to fall Saturday mainly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. with less than an inch of accumulated expected.
Temperatures should rise this weekend with a high of 41 on Sunday and 40 on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
