Spokane police arrest suspected vehicle thief after victim spots stolen car

Spokane police arrested a 26-year-old suspected of stealing a Subaru Legacy after the victim spotted his stolen car in the Albertsons parking lot on North Nevada Street Thursday evening.

The victim gave police a description of the man he saw walking away from the car and into the store, then officers detained the suspect as he was reentering the vehicle, according to Spokane police. Officers identified the suspect as Jacob Bozo, who had an active Department of Corrections warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle and four previous felony convictions.

Police located a handgun, methamphetamine and heroin on Bozo as they took him into custody, according to a news release. He was booked into Spokane County Jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of heroin and methamphetamine.
