Loon Lake man killed hitting moose on U.S. 395

A 71-year-old Loon Lake man who struck a moose earlier this month while driving on U.S. Highway 395 about 3 miles south of Loon Lake has died.

Raymond R. Duxbury was driving a 2013 Cadillac CTS north on the highway at about 8:15 p.m. Sept. 1 when he hit the animal that entered the road, according to Washington State Patrol. Duxbury, who was wearing a seat belt, died at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center two days later.
