Idaho’s own Melissa Davlin, co-host of “Idaho Reports” on Idaho Public TV, appeared on MSNBC’s “Meet the Press” today to talk about the election in Idaho, and the robocalls that have gone out to Idaho voters from Mitt Romney urging them to turn out and vote for Marco Rubio. The Romney calls, which hit Idaho voters on Monday, also went out in Michigan, Mississippi and Hawaii, according to the New York Times; plus, Romney recorded robocalls urging voters to support John Kasich in Michigan.

Why would Romney robocalls matter in Idaho? Roughly a quarter of Idaho’s residents are members of the LDS Church, as is Romney, and he’s a revered figure in the state, having garnered 64.5 percent of the Idaho vote for president in 2012 against Barack Obama, who took just 32.6 percent.
