Boise Sen. Burgoyne among a dozen candidates vying for Idaho Court of Appeals opening
State Sen. Grant Burgoyne, D-Boise, is one of 12 attorneys who have applied for an upcoming vacancy on the Idaho Court of Appeals, the Idaho Statesman reports. The vacancy will come when current Appeals Court Judge John Melanson retires June 30. Statesman reporter Bill Dentzer reports that Burgoyne, 62, a second-term senator who previously served three terms in the House, joins three magistrate judges, a deputy attorney general and others in vying for the opening on the state’s second-highest court.
The Idaho Judicial Council will interview the candidates in July and recommend four finalists to Gov. Butch Otter. You can read Dentzer’s full report here.
