A good argument could be made that bicyclist Lance Armstrong is the greatest American athlete ever as he won his seventh straight Tour de France cycling race, after the 21st and final stage of the race between Corbeil-Essonnes, south of Paris, and the French capital Sunday here. Who do you think is the greatest American athlete ever?

Feedback: Lance Armstrong has to be considered top dog in my lifetime. However, from all I've read and heard of Jim Thorpe, he might just be the best ever.
