It is still amazing to this observer that the Sheriff was contributing money and efforts to smear Mr. Kennedy. One would think he might have been putting his efforts into the jail expansion -- Side Note.

Background: Sheriff Rocky Watson chipped in a double sawbuck at a GOP Central Committee meeting, at Shellman's request, to help pay for one of the four attack ads against Kennedy. Others included: Sharon Culbreath ($50), Dick Wandrocke ($20), Rep. Marge Chadderdon ($100), Bob Hollingsworth ($50) and Rep. Phil Hart ($15). Shellman paid for two attack ads himself and the GOP CC for the fourth one.
