Golden Pen: Are You Willing to Take Foreign Risks?
The following letter appeared in today's Roundtable:
Safety not drug import issueWhy is it there was so much to-do about buying pharmaceuticals from Canada? We had government agencies up in arms about the "safety" of drugs from Canada. What happened to that concern regarding food safety, toothpaste, toys? We buy them from China because they are cheaper, right?
Obviously the borders are free and open with China, yet we suspect our neighbors to the north? Our import policies have more to do with whose pockets are being lined than with any rational concern for the American people. "Let the buyer beware" is American policy. So bribery is a problem in Iraq?

Question: Are you willing to take the risk for Canadian drugs along with that of Chinese imports?
