RSPA: Are You Kicking Us To The Curb, DFO?

re: start-up of new Spokane-centric, HBO-type blog in a few weeks

I'm kinda torn over the new Spokane blog DFO's trying to kick us to the curb with. On the one hand, it's always nice to have local issues and homiez to cyber kick it with and by being Spokanistanocentric it will clearly be able to reach for more lofty cultural and aesthetic heights than anything from North Idaho ... yet ... sigh. On the other hand, I don't know about you but I've grown rather fond of many of these North Idahoans and their quaint and disturbing ways ... I've learned their lingo like "LCDC" and "Chipmunks R Gud!" and "Hagadonia" and joined them in much frolic and merriment at the expense of others over the last 3 years. It will be hard to let that all go. But we are a bit like ships adrift ... our anchor lines cut and floating uselessly on the surface water as we try to relate to a neighboring geography and ethos that just doesn't quite match up to our own values and morals, like our beliefs in marrying outside of the family and not stealing power for our 72 Marlettes with jumpercables and illegal boxes.
