Sen. Larry Craig continues to press his case in Minneapolis, which is not just his right, but his obligation if he really believes an injustice was done. But one has to wonder whether he and his advisers figure the "continuing butt of jokes" factor into their calculus. Any new event in the case creates more fodder for joke writers, and keeps it current enough to be a monologue target. As a previous item opined, Craig's future got pretty black when he became a laughline on late night television. But the reports of the incident broke when The Daily Show was on vacation.
