BrentA: Society To Blame For Fred Russell

You know, we are all partially to blame for these deaths. We watch alcohol companies - and states like Idaho - sell their intoxicants to anyone and everyone with a few dollars to lay on the table, and most of us never say anything about it. Let's not forget that Washington residents profited from Fred Russell's booze purchase, or that Idaho continues to sell booze which will no doubt result in more deaths on the road. It is probable that Fred Russell grew up under a television which told him at every turn that alcohol makes life better and makes people sexier. Who spoke out when little Fred was watching the Bud Bowl as a kid? Who speaks out against Idaho's partnership with the very Devil, to sell his brew? It's easy to condemn Fred Russell. We can all feel safer now that he's going to prison. But are we safer? Not as long as the public continues to profit from alcohol sales. We're not safer, we're in danger, and we're responsible.
