Digger Chastizes Mayor In Moscow Paper

It's budget time again in Moscow and Mayor Nancy Chaney has rolled out her $55.5 million dollar city budget. I applaud the efforts of the mayor and city staff for doing a great job at putting it together. Well, most of it. There is some information that seems to have been lost in the shuffle regarding the process, including an increase in our property taxes by the full 3 percent allowed by law. See, in the world of tax and spend liberalism in which the mayor lives it's just that simple. Raise taxes and voilá, you've got a city budget. Surely there is a way to maintain essential city services without raising taxes. To borrow a phrase from the movie "Airplane," "Yes there is, but don't call me Shirley"/Henry Johnston (aka Digger), Moscow-Pullman Daily News. More here.

Question: Do you pay attention to the various budgets rolled out by the dozens of taxing districts in your county?
