The Office of Alabama Rep. Parker Griffith is seen on Capitol Hill in Washington Tuesday. Griffith of Alabama, a freshman is switching to the Republican Party, his office said Tuesday, another blow to Democrats facing a potentially tough midterm election. (AP Photo/Harry Hamburg) Question: Should Idaho Blue Dog Demo Walt Minnick switch parties?

If Walt did leave the democrat party, it would be like the 4th of July watching some heads explode. :-)

I think he would make an excellent Republican.

He represents Idaho well. Isn’t that all that really matters?

who cares - political expediency is all it is. If Walt wants to shy away from the inevitable D backlash, more power to him. This guy in Alabama rode in the D wave and wants to avoid being swept back out as it crests … plain and simple.

Somewhere in D.C. Arlen Specter is avoiding a reporter right now.

Switching to the GOP is the last thing Walt Minnick will do, he may be fiscally conservative, but Walt Minnick is a Democrat. And he will win in November.
