Cop Gets Job Back After Sex In Car

Item: Spokane officer gets his job back after being accused of improper conduct: Mediator: Sex with woman in unmarked car doesn’t warrant firing/KXLY

More Info: An arbitrator assigned to the case ruled that his behavior was conduct unbecoming of an office, but did not warrant termination. Uberuaga was a 10-year veteran when he was fired for what the police department viewed as inappropriate behavior for an off-duty officer. Uberuaga used his department-issued cell phone to take pictures of a naked woman and then had sex with her in his unmarked police car in a Spokane Valley tavern parking lot.

Question: Would you want this guy on your police force?

‘course while we are on the topic of those who enforce the law behaving badly whilst on duty, let us not forget this gentleman….

okay. I just want to test how to post a link in here…let’s try this … http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2006-08-18-judge-sentenced_x.htm

I must have missed the how to here…oh well…it’s about that judge out in Oklahoma who was, erm, apparently VERY busy whilst on the stand….

Assuming that it was consensual sex, I’ve heard of worse things done by officers in the state who are still employed. In my current job, I’ve met a good number of great men and women in service, but I’ve also met a fair number who, when I think about them with guns and badges, give me the willies.

Did anyone actually read the article?

  • Bob on February 09 at 12:46 p.m.

Well, all he got was a slap on the wrist but fortunately that means he now has a dislocated penis.

The story says the woman involved claimed it was rape, but the Dept’s investigation didn’t back up that claim. Don’t know if she recanted that charge or not.

It was also documented that he drove his unmarked police car after he’d been drinking.

Uberuaga was also involved in the Otto Zehm homicide.

He was a star baseball player at GU, so, you know, they tend to get preferential treatment, wink wink.

Oh, and more than a few people witnessed the sexual act…

    “Boys will be boys…”

Well, at least he didn’t shoot anyone in the head from behind, like SPD officer James J. Olsen did to Shonto Pete, for which he still hasn’t been held to account.

Here’s Spokesman-Review reporter Jody Lawrence-Turner’s version of the story: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2009/feb/09/spokane-officer-reinstated/

This reminds me of a former small town cop in North Idaho, his name was Durkin. The only reason I remember that name is because of the joke – “Hide the mothers and daughters because Durkin is Lurkin”. He was legendary for banging women in his patrol car. He was far and away the sleaziest, creepiest, most fraudulent, joke of a human being I ever saw in my life. He had a condition that caused the skin on his arms, hands, neck and ears to peel constantly like a molting snake? The sight of him made you paranoid, frightened, and repulsed all at the same time. It goes to show the mysterious power a cop in a uniform and patrol car can have over certain female persuasions. Even a creep like that could lure women into his car for sex. If this freak show could do it, any sleaze-ball in a uniform could do it and that creates a potential for an enormous abuse of power, errr waste of tax payer dollars. This guy should have been fired – period.

So if a cop doesn’t respond, it’s because he’s responding to something else?
