Question: Do you take losing hard?

Losing? What’s that?
I always win. But, I am a gracious man, so sometimes I’ll let others win too.
My kids hate it when I let them win at chess…

Nah. But sometimes I find losers a little hard to take.

It depends on the loss. When I pour my heart and soul into something (like these basketball players have) - then yeah, I take it pretty hard. I get kind of heartbroken.
Otherwise, if it’s a casual game or something (you know, those ones for “fun”) - I just get a little raged about losing and insist on playing again until I can win at least once. And that’s an improvement for me…

One has to accept the possibility of defeat when one steps onto the mat, floor, or arena. I coached for several years in both Post Falls and Coeur d’ Alene and always preached “Win with class, lose with class” and honor your opponent for being willing to step into the arena with you. It seemed my athletes appreciated that message and displayed class, even when losing hurt.

Bill Doba (former Cougar Football Coach) said a few years ago “World War II was a must win, this is just a football game.”
That said, it’s a lot more fun to win than to come up short.
But it’s still just a game.

Yes, I hate losing. So I don’t compete anymore.
