When is fast ‘too fast’? It’s one thing to watch people speed thru a tough luge course; it’s quite another thing altogether when fatalities occur. But in this age of faster, faster, faster, stuff like this will continue to occur. I guess I’m thinking that maybe the courses could be made safer or slower.

This and other Olympic happenings will feed the mighty news machines covering not only the winners, but those who have to “settle” for a Silver or Bronze medal. Settle? When it’s used in that sense, it disgusts me. You don’t “settle” for a 2nd or 3rd place finish. You WON that medal and it’s something to be proud of.
