Huckleberries Hears …

... That attorneys for the city, county, Mike Kennedy, and Jim Brannon met twice over the Christmas holidays to discuss a lawsuit filed by Brannon to overthrow the entire 2009 Coeur d'Alene City Council election -- once in the week before Christmas (possibly Christmas Eve) and again in the week after Christmas (either Wednesday or Thursday). Starr Kelso, Brannon's attorney, asked former county elections chief Deedie Beard a number of questions from the lengthy list of problems that he alleges in the suit took place during the election. Councilman Kennedy wasn't present during the discussions. A source tells Huckleberries that no compromises were reached and that things stand about where they did a month ago.

Question: Do you think someone from Jim Brannon's camp show up Tuesday night to protest the swearing in of Councilman Mike Kennedy to a second term?
