Gonzaga 74, Loyola Marymount 55

Gonzaga's Kevin Pangos (left) and Mike Hart (center) fight Loyola Marymount players for a loose ball during the second half of a West Coast Conference basketball game tonight in Spokane. No. 6 Gonzaga defeated Loyola Marymount 74-55 and stands to move up to No. 2 or No. 3 in the polls Monday as three teams ahead of them in the standings lost Saturday. (SR photo: Tyler Tjomsland)

Kevin Pangos and Kelly Olynyk each scored 20 points as No. 6 Gonzaga beat Loyola Marymount 74-55 on Saturday, a victory which left the Zags poised to break into the top five on Monday. Elias Harris added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Gonzaga (23-2, 10-0 West Coast), which should benefit from losses by No. 1 Indiana, No. 3 Michigan and No. 5 Kansas this week. Anthony Ireland tied a career high with 30 points to lead cold-shooting Loyola Marymount (8-16, 1-10), which has lost eight straight games and is last in the league. Question: How high will Gonzaga rank when the polls are released Monday?
